THE “GREATEST MISTAKE” OF MY LIFE WAS LOSING ANDROID; Says Bill Gates

Bill Gates has made a statement saying that allowing/letting Google to launch ANDROID
was the “BIGGEST MISTAKE” of his life. Here’s the excerpt where he made the statement.

An event hosted by Village Global, a venture capital firm, where the Microsoft co-founder
said about the same which is quoted as follows:-

THE GREATEST MISTAKE EVER IS..... WHATEVER MISMANAGEMENT I
ENGAGED IN THAT CAUSED MICROSOFT NOT TO BE WHAT ANDROID IS”.

These words shook everyone in the tech industry, as these words were said by a tech giant who had built an empire with his own expertise and intelligence. He said these words due to his thinking regarding the mistakes he made in his time while building MICROSOFT as a company/Business etc. Google acquired Android for $50 MILLION DOLLARS back in 2005.This was the worst decision of his life according to him.

Recalling his thoughts regarding the same, he says that ANDROID is and was the standard for non-Apple phone
platform; this was the situation where WINNER-TAKES-ALL markets, in the software world. Due to some mismanagement he was engaged in, left him leaving Android opportunity- the Microsoft equivalent in the mobile world.

Eventually, Android fully and brutally killed Windows Mobile and Windows Phone and
become the giant and the gem that we see and enjoy in our mobile phones. He however
claimed that the company’s cloud business is gaining the popularity required as per their plan and mindset. Also, he said if he hadn’t made this mistake/error,they would have been ‘the leading company’, instead of ‘a leading company’.

Thank You !!
