Nothing Phone 1 : Something, Everything Not Just Anything

Nothing Phone (1)

Remember the day you were born? Nope! Its not possible, right? But the stories our families told us about our birth date is always fascinating. Its all because, we are the best thing that has ever happened to our parents even if we are not the first ones.

But why am I relating this story to a smartphone?
Its because, no matter how similar the specifications of the Nothing Phone (1) is,
It feels that the best has ever happened to entire smartphone industry is this phone.

It something like a new born baby in a family of eight, who already had bunch of kids to take care of, but it never hurts if you get one extra smile to look at to adore and to love that.

Carl Pei left OnePlus and.. Ahh Sh**.. here we go again.

Something

The day Nothing Phone (1) got announced, the hype was real followed by a reveal and a launch that swings the mood of Android Industry "to and fro" but always up and never down.

Everybody understood one thing, this phone is indeed something.

Again, Nothing Phone (1)

The first time the Nothing Phone (1) got revealed, we were introduced with the mesmerizing glowing animated lights on the transparent back panel that is controlled by the glyph interface.

The idea is simple, you get the white strip of light on the back of smartphone that glows, blinks and animates whenever you receive calls, messages or notifications.
You can also control these lights under glyph interface and set it as per your choice that not only looks interesting but it gives the smartphone a cool new vibe.

Even the blinking of lights or the animations were matched with some great sound effects and vibrations that has not been done before by any other brand.

But not only that, whenever you plug in charging, the bottom strip can tell you the amount of charge your battery has, or you can just use these lights as a fill source for your cameras when taking pictures at night.

And also there is a little red led dot that keeps on blinking whenever you record video with the back camera, so if you want to vlog with back camera and not sure if the video is being recorded or not, that red led can really help you and ease your stress.

Seeing all these cool back panel features in a smartphone really made people believe that this phone is really going to be something, something different and apart from the rest.
But what people weren't expecting that this Nothing has not Only Something, But Everything you need for smartphone that is half the price of Apple iPhone 13.

Everything

How do you decide a smartphone that it has everything not just big numbers?
Well, the answer is simple, by providing a little amount of everything on it, rather than pushing hardcore in one area and lacking extremely in other.

And the Nothing Phone (1) does it beautifully.
It comes with a specification that can be accepted by the widest range of audience rather than just a typical one or two groups.

You ask for good cameras, it has it. good battery, good display, good performance, good build quality, good software and so on.
It really define the famous tagline of POCO, everything you need, in its own way.

Yeah another Nothing Phone (1)

Oh, that was a long list of specifications buddy, yet I can say, I might have missed something in it.
But these specifications reveals one thing for sure.
This is the most complete specifications that I have ever seen under a price tag of 40000 INR.

Oh, here's the price
8 RAM + 128 GB    - Rs. 31999
8 RAM + 256 GB    - Rs. 34999
12 RAM + 256 GB  - Rs. 37999

Comparing these prices and above specifications with the current scenario of smartphone market, it just feels like Nothing Phone (1) ain't just anything.

Not Just Anything

The base price of 31999 ain't cheap, so as usual there were some people who were disappointed with the price, there were some who were asking it for under 25000 Rupees.
And its astonishing, how anyone can think about this device even Under 30K?

The closest device that comes near to the specifications of Nothing Phone (1) is Motorola Edge 30 that sells for Rs. 27999 for 6/128GB Variant, while the 8/128GB Variant is priced at Rs. 29999.
And While it is 2000 Rupees Cheaper than Nothing Phone (1)
we have to keep in mind that the Motorola Edge 30 lacks a lot of things that Nothing Phone 1 Provides.

Finally a different phone in the thread, Moto Edge 30

Moto Edge 30 Vs Nothing Phone (1)

Plastic Back < Glass Back
Plastic Frame < Aluminum Frame
Boring Design < Great Design
4020mAh < 4500mAh
Only Wired Charging < Wired + Wireless Charging
OmniVision Camera < Sony IMX766 Sensor
No Notification Light < Full Back Notification LED Glyph Interface
No IP Rating < IP53 Rating
155Grams > 193Grams
144Hz > 120Hz
32MP Front > 16MP Front
Rest Specifications are Same.

So by comparing the above spec sheet, you can clearly see, Motorola Edge 30 has advantage in just 2-3 aspects and even those doesn't bother too much.
Meaning, 155 grams compared to 193 grams is a point to be considered for longer use.
But, the 144Hz over 120Hz and 32MP front over 16MP barely means any more difference.

In the other hand, Nothing Phone (1) has big advantages whether you talk about glass design, transparent looks, metallic frame, led lights, glyph interface, Camera sensors, etc.
And if you are getting all the above advantages by paying just Rs. 2000 extra, its totally worth having it.

Okay, one more Nothing Phone (1)

Now with all the advantages in hand, I am totally convinced that the Nothing Phone (1) is not just anything that gets launched everyday by many other brands, but its something that you need or its everything that you really should have.

I am sure, in the upcoming years, this phone will be regarded as the industry changer, the real player and a new born baby in the smartphone industry that really changed the way for everyone, the way they used to live, the things they used to love and the compromises they used to make are totally gone.

And a new life begins,
A life that will make your days warm,
and fill your heart with love & joy.

This was my opinion about Nothing Phone (1),
Signing off for now.

But one thing I have to say before you leave.

Nothing.
