How to enable WhatsApp dark mode on Android and iOS devices
At present DARK MODE is the hot spot. We have previously seen dark mode in most of the google apps like youtube, photos, dialer … so on. Where as in upcoming android Q and ios13 dark mode is natively available.
Whats app is also trying to implement the dark mode in their app also. Since it is not accessible directly, but the good news is that there are workarounds to enable it and here are the simple steps to enable it. But one thing worth noticing here is that for android users who have the latest Android Q beta version can only get this feature enabled as of now. Let’s find out how to enable it in android and ios.
How to enable WhatsApp dark mode on Android:
- Go to settings > Display > Select theme > Dark
- Once the dark mode is turned on, go to settings again(to enable dark mode) > About phone, scroll down to build number and tap it multiple times until a message pops-up saying Developers option is turned on.
- Now go to developer setting > Tap on ‘Override force-dark’ this is for applying dark theme to other apps.
- Dark Mode is now enabled.
- But to enjoy the dark mode fully, change the chat background to none (WhatsApp settings > wallpaper > none)
How to enable WhatsApp dark mode on iOS:
- Go to Settings>General > Accessibility > Display Accommodations > Invert Colours > Smart Invert
- You now have enabled dark theme across all apps in the device
- Now change the chat background, choose dark or no wallpaper
There you go, whether you’re in android or iOS you can turn on dark mode in whats app using the steps provided above. Enjoyyy
